Views invited on draft plan for town centres
Residents and shop owners in Ballyclare and Glengormley are being encouraged to take up the last opportunity to be part of the consultation on the draft Masterplans for Glengormley and Ballyclare.
The consultation period, which will close on Friday, August 27, sees draft proposals identify key development opportunities in both town centres, including new retail and leisure sites by redeveloping derelict and run down areas, as well as physical improvements to create new public spaces in the town centres. The plans can be viewed in Woodsides |(Ballyclare) and Northcott Shopping Centre (Glengormley), as well as on the council’s website www.newtownabbey.gov.uk/masterplans and on the Department for Social Development website |at www.dsdni.gov.uk
The Mayor of Newtownabbey, Alderman Paula Bradley urged those local residents and shop owners who have not yet taken part to do so.
“The draft Masterplans are important pieces of work to map out the potential future design of our town centres and we would encourage residents and traders to respond to the consultation.”
