Warning after pipe bomb defused
A pipe bomb defused in Northern Ireland had the potential to kill and maim, a police chief has warned.
The device was removed from Alexander Avenue, in Armagh city, after a security operation lasting hours that led to several homes being evacuated.
Local residents had to be accommodated at the nearby Orchard Leisure Centre.
PSNI Chief Inspector Davy Beck said the vast majority of the community were opposed to the activities of those behind the pipe bomb.
