A man in the Glenshane Gardens area of west Belfast was held at knifepoint on Thursday morning as intruders stole cash before escaping in his car.

The resident woke between 4am and 4.30am to find two men in his room.

They held a knife to the his face and demanded that he give them money.

The two men then made off in the victim’s car, a beige Skoda Octavia, with a sum of cash, a laptop, a Playstation 4 and a sports bag containing clothes, medication and a mobile phone.

Police said: "We are keen to hear from anyone with information about this crime or anyone who is offered similar items for sale.

"Detectives can be contacted at Musgrave Police Station on 101, quoting reference number 143, 14/7/16. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
