West Belfast stabbing: Man seriously injured

The man was attacked on Cullingtree Road in the west of the city.

A teenager has been seriously injured after he was stabbed in west Belfast.

The 18-year-old victim was attacked on the Cullingtree Road at around 6am on Sunday.

He has been taken to hospital for surgery to injuries which are described as serious.

There are no further details at this stage.

Detective Inspector Nigel Snoddy said “The investigation is at a very early stage and I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, which is believed to have occurred in and around 6.00am this morning, to contact detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime, Musgrave police station on the non-emergency number 101."
