West End star John Owen-Jones and Lesley Garrett set for Proms
Broadway and West End star John Owen-Jones is coming to Belfast for the annual Last Night of the Proms.
He will fly directly into Northern Ireland from New York, where he has been appearing in the ever-popular musical Les Miserables, to huge critical acclaim.
Owen-Jones, who was born in south Wales, holds the record for the longest-serving lead in Phantom of the Opera in London.
But he is best known for his performance in the starring role in Les Miserables as Jean Valjean.
The musical theatre actor will be joined at event at the Titanic Slipways on September 10 by soprano star Lesley Garrett.
More than 70,000 people have applied for tickets this year.
Also appearing will be Londonderry-born pianist Ruth McGinley, who rose to fame after winning the piano final of the BBC Young Musician in 1994.
And it is a double for Derry, with chamber choir Codetta also appearing.
