Why it's the right move at right time for TV star
Although she has stated that she won't be abandoning the UK, in my opinion Christine Bleakley could certainly do a lot worse than relocate to New York.
For example, she could stay in London and potentially face more career setbacks. And you've got to admit that after a stellar start, there have been a few in recent years.
First there was her disastrous switch from The One Show on BBC to Daybreak on ITV. Then there was Dancing On Ice, where she got slated almost every week in the popular Press.
But the latest kick in the proverbials is that her hopes to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning (who is preparing to take a year's maternity leave) were unsuccessful, with Amanda Holden getting the plum role. A spokesperson from ITV said the choice was easy because Amanda is "so popular with viewers". Ouch.
So you could say that after a good start, Christine's career hasn't been what it promised since she left the BBC.
Meanwhile, her fiancé Frank Lampard seems to be moving onwards. While many Premiership footballers often hang up their boots by their late 30s, Frank has landed a dream job, playing for a New York City "soccer" team.
Apparently they made him an offer he couldn't refuse, and who would blame him? Certainly not Christine, who can now look forward to a brand new and very exciting career boost of her own.
Granted, the English viewing public may not have liked her style, her voice or even her personality, but you can bet your bottom dollar the Yanks will! Especially in New York, where they just love all things remotely Oirish.
Then all she will have to do is charm the audience with her Northern Irish wit, flash those teeth, toss her nut-brown hair, show off her show reel to a few big wigs, and I bet she'll be hosting her own show before you can say Frank's your fiancé.
