A 43-year-old woman has been charged in connection with her role in several recent distraction burglaries in counties Armagh and Down.

The woman was charged with two counts of burglary, attempted burglary and a number of motoring offences.

These were in connection with a distraction type burglary in Oliver Punkett Park area of Belleeks on April 26, another at Art McCooey Park in Crossmaglen on April 28 and an attempted burglary in the Castleblaney Street area of Newtownhamilton, also on April 28.

Detectives from the PSNI's Reactive and Organised Crime branch in Newry say they are still keen to speak to anyone who has noticed any suspicious females calling at houses and trying door handles in the south Armagh area.

The woman is expected to appear at Newry Magistrate's Court on Monday.
