A 75-year-old woman has died in a serious collision between two vehicles on the A2 dual carriageway between Bangor and Holywood.

The woman was the driver of one of the cars.  The incident happened at around 2.10pm close to the Devils Elbow at Carney Hill.

A PSNI spokesman said: "A 75-year-old woman has died in a two car collision on A2 between Bangor & Holywood. The male driver of other car has been taken to hospital."

The road remains closed at present while the scene of the collision is examined by officers from PSNI Collision Investigation Unit.
