A woman and a child were taken to hospital following a morning road crash in Tandragee, Co Armagh.

One ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene following the collision on the Portadown Road at around 9am on Wednesday.

The woman was presenting with neck pain, according to a Northern Ireland Ambulance Service spokesperson.

They were taken to Craigavon Area Hospital following an initial assessment and were later discharged.

The road has been closed to traffic between Ballyknock Road and Brackagh Road and motorists should use alternative routes.

A Transport NI spokesperson said the road is expected to remain closed throughout the afternoon while Northern Ireland Electricity workers repair an electricity pole and overhead power lines.
