Woman arrested after stab attack

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Northern Ireland.

The attack happened in the Sandys Street area of Newry in the early hours of this morning.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said they have arrested a 27 year old woman.

Detective Inspector Keith Gawley said she is being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.

"She is currently in police custody," he added.
