A woman was left badly shaken after hijackers chased her and stole her car keys in Belfast.

The 60-year-old woman was in her car at the Northside Park and Ride Carpark in York Street when two men entered the car and then chased her on foot.

They physically removed the car keys from her. She was badly shaken but was not injured.

The incident happened around 5pm on Wednesday July 13.

Two suspects were arrested later in Hallidays Road where the stolen car had been left. They were interviewed and subsequently released from custody.

In particular, we are appealing for information from anyone who was in the vicinity of the car park around 5pm on Wednesday, who saw the incident or any males in the area.

"We are also appealing for information about the blue Peugeot car registration ERZ8053 and its movements between 5pm and 5:35pm, when it was abandoned in Hallidays Road, Belfast.

“Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact Police at Musgrave Station on 101 quoting reference 883 13/07/16. If you prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
