Woman charged over human trafficking in Belfast

Police investigating human trafficking have charged a woman in Belfast.

The 38-year-old accused faces three counts of committing an offence with intent to commit a slavery or human trafficking offence; three counts of acting as an unlicensed gang master; and money laundering by acquiring criminal property.

The charges follows the rescue of five potential trafficking victims in Belfast on July 20.

A man aged 39, Zoltan Raffael, was remanded in custody last week as part of the same investigation.

The woman is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on September 3.
