Woman 'critical but stable' after Poleglass stabbing

A woman is in a critical but stable condition after she was stabbed at a house in west Belfast.

At around 6pm a man and a woman called at an address in Woodside View in Poleglass and became involved in an altercation with the female resident at the door.

One of the pair stabbed the householder in the abdomen before they both fled the scene.

The 35-year-old woman is currently receiving treatment in hospital and her condition is understood to be critical but stable.

A 26-year-old man arrested by detectives investigating the incident has been released on bail pending further police enquiries.
