Woman in court for 'lies' that led to Wells quitting
A woman charged after allegedly telling lies about former health minister Jim Wells appeared in court yesterday.
Dorothy Elaine Dawn Gardner, from Dungannon, is alleged to have wasted police time by knowingly making a false report to show that an offence had been committed by the DUP MLA on April 28 last year. Gardner (48), from the Killycanavan Road, was told at the Downpatrick Court hearing that she would have to make a plea at her next appearance.
The defence team told a previous court hearing that it was prepared for a trial later this month.
