Woman interviewed by police investigating racial abuse hurled at teen girls in Belfast

A 30-year-old woman has been interviewed by police investigating an incident where racial abuse was directed at three teen girls in Belfast.

The incident happened on Saturday, June 10, at Donegal Square West.

Chief Inspector Kirkpatrick said: "Following information provided by the public, a 30-year-old woman has been interviewed by police investigating an incident during which racial abuse was directed towards three teenage girls at Donegal Square West in Belfast city centre on Saturday 10 June.

"A report will now be submitted to the Public Prosecution Service.”

The three teenagers - all aged 14 - were sitting on a bench at Belfast's City Hall on Saturday when they were approached by a woman.

One of the teenagers managed to video the incident on her smartphone.
