Woman pulled free as car stolen

A woman has been pulled from her car by a hijacker in west Belfast.

The man made off in her black Peugeot 3008 following the violent incident in the Hawthorne Street area at about 9pm last night.

The hijacker was described as being tall and wearing a hat and dark clothing.

The stolen car is thought to have been driven past Queen's University later last night.

The woman was not physically harmed during the incident but police said she had been left shaken up.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
