A woman has been threatened in her own home in south Belfast by a would be robber who forced the lock on her front door.

The incident took place at around 3.15pm on Saturday at a house on Lancefield Road.

He was disturbed by the female resident who he threatened before leaving the house empty handed.

The man has been described as being around 5ft 8ins tall, approximately 19 years old, of a slim build with a swarthy complexion and spoke with an eastern European accent.

He was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap, dark blue tracksuit top and a grey t-shirt.
