Woman ‘traumatised’ after meat cleaver raid
An SDLP councillor has said a staff member at a convenience store in Twinbrook was left traumatised following a robbery yesterday.
Dunmurry councillor Brian Heading said the woman was threatened with a meat cleaver by two masked men in broad daylight.
“This vulgar attack is extremely alarming and our thoughts are with the employee. We must now ensure that every effort is made to help her recover from this ordeal,” he said.
“This incident is the latest in a spate of robberies in this area of high unemployment and, as a consequence, there is a serious danger that business will be deterred from investing in the area.
“I would encourage people to be vigilant and urge the PSNI to liaise with business owners to minimise the risk of attacks to their employees.”
