Woman who assaulted pregnant nurse in the A&E Department at Altnagelvin Hospital is jailed
A woman who assaulted a pregnant nurse in the A&E Department at Londonderry's Altnagelvin Hospital has been jailed.
Stacey Magee (24), from Upper Suffolk Road, Belfast, admitted attacking the health worker on July 3 and was jailed for six months.
Derry's Magistrates Court heard Magee had been taken to A&E after hitting her head on the ground in an attack.
After the defendant arrived, a nurse requested police help because Magee had pushed over a pregnant nurse and called her a "stupid b****".
District Judge Barney McElholm said that he did not think "it was too late" for Magee, but added she needed to seek help.
He said he could not make her go to a doctor but advised her to see one while in prison.
