Women fined for littering

Three women have been fined at Belfast Magistrates Court for littering offences.

Helen Connor, from Bendigo Street in east Belfast, was fined £50 and ordered to pay costs of £66 for dumping litter in her street on July 6, 2010.

Also fined £50 was Cody McAllister, from City Way in west Belfast. She was ordered to pay costs of £66 for dumping litter.

Donna Galway, from Highbury Gardens in north Belfast, was fined £50 and ordered to pay costs of £66 for failing to respond to an information notice issued by Belfast City Council in relation to an alleged littering.

Elsewhere, Meda Lacatus, from Upper Newtownards Road, was fined £60 and ordered to pay court costs of £66 for selling goods in Belfast city centre on September 21, 2010, without a street trading licence.

Meanwhile, Emmet Hugh Cromie, from Benmore Drive in Belfast, was fined £50 and ordered to pay costs of £66 after he was detected drinking alcohol at Lower Crescent on September 26, 2010.

The prosecutions were all brought by Belfast City Council.
