Young couple and baby escape injury after 'hate crime' arson attack on car spreads to their Co Antrim home
A young couple and their baby have escaped injury after an arson attack on a car spread to their house in Ballycastle.
Investigations are at an early stage but police are treating the incident as a hate crime.
The car was set alight in the Islandarragh Road area during the early house of this morning.
The vehicle was deliberately set alight outside a property shortly before 2.30am.
The flames spread to the house causing significant damage to the front door, windows and guttering.
Sectarian graffiti was also daubed at the scene.
The couple in their 20s and their young baby were in the property at the time but were not hurt.
Investigations are at an early stage however police are treating the incident as a hate crime.
