Priorians Seconds hosted Ballymoney Seconds at Melvin Park, Strabane, on Saturday.
From the whistle, Priorians took control but good defensive play by Ballymoney prevented Priorians getting on the scoresheet until late in the first half.
There were fine runs by left wing Jane Allen who was unlucky to see her attempts on goal thwarted and good direct passing throughout the first half by the Prior team. The Prior goal came from a direct pass from Rhonda Curry in midfield to forward Laura McFaul who fed the ball through to Nicole Sloane on the right wing.
Sloane drove the ball to the back line of the Ballymoney circle and released the ball to the penalty spot where McFall was waiting for her chance and converted the Sloane pass into a goal.
Prior made a few changes to their line-up at the start of the second half as instructed by coach Jackie Stewart.
Ballymoney came out strong and looked dangerous on a number of occasions.
However, the skills of well drilled backs Olivia Doherty and Sarah Cole were able to keep the ball away from the Prior goal. Ballymoney were afforded a few penalty corners, but good defending and excellent goalkeeping from Michelle Carr saw off all attempts on goal.
Prior relentlessly made attacks deep within the Ballymoney half and good forward passing by Netty Wilson, Alice O'Neill and Hazel Buchanan put the away defence under continued pressure and kept the visitors at bay.
Coaches Jackie Stewart and Sandra Moran were well pleased with this all round performance as this was a hard fought victory. The player of the match award went to both Sarah Cole and Olivia Doherty for their excellent defending.
Next week Priorians Seconds are at home to Limavady in the league.
Priorians would like to take this opportunity to thank Magic Moments T-shirt Printers for their match sponsorship.
