A TV advertisement featuring Irish golf star Padraig Harrington endorsing Optical Express laser eye surgery has been dropped — because he had the procedure at a different clinic.
The ad, which has been running for some time now on Irish and UK screens, shows Harrington heaping praise on laser eye surgery as a key factor in his golf game.
He says: "My advice? Visit Optical Express, Europe's number one provider. It'll help your game too."
Dublin's Wellington Eye Clinic confirmed that they had carried out the procedure and not Optical Express.
UK viewers will no longer have the opportunity to listen to the advice from the Irish golfing legend after the UK's Advertising Standards Authority received a complaint about the ad.
It will continue to air in Ireland.
