The saga surrounding the DUP and the Giant's Causeway visitor centre took another twist last night.

It has been confirmed that in-laws of DUP minister Ian Paisley Jnr are neighbours of his in a Bushmills development built by prospective Causeway centre developer Seymour Sweeney.

Mr Sweeney last night again emphasised that all properties at Ballyallaght Farm Cottages were sold at "full market value".

Mr Paisley Jnr confirmed that one of the Ballyallaght properties near his own was owned by his father-in-law and mother-in-law.

The junior Stormont Minister told this newspaper: "I can confirm that my in-laws are neighbours of mine in Bushmills and have been for a number of years. They were neighbours at my previous home in Bushmills as well."

DUP Environment Minister Arlene Foster announced this week that she was " minded" to grant planning approval for Mr Sweeney's controversial Causeway visitor centre proposals.

Mrs Foster subsequently stated that she been totally unaware of his party affiliation and threatened to sue anyone who "impugns my integrity in this matter".
