Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a 17-year-old in Co Antrim last night.

The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment after he was shot in the leg near the Greystone Link in the Ballycraigy area of Antrim at about 8pm.

Eight weeks ago, 42-year-old Martin Morgan was shot dead in his Firmount Drive home in Antrim, near the scene of last night's attack.

He had only been freed from prison a few weeks before his death on July 7.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph this morning, Deputy Mayor of Antrim Oran Keenan said that the local community was in shock.

"What concerns us is that it happened not too far from where Martin Morgan was shot dead in his home," he said.

"We understand that the people who did that shooting went back into Ballycraigy."
