DUP election models are Mormons from the US

Dan Whitmore and Kristin MacKenzie with Peter Robinson

Dan Whitmore and Kristin MacKenzie with Peter Robinson

The two attractive young models used on controversial DUP election posters are American Mormons living in New York, it has been revealed.

Fortunately for the scandal-hit DUP they are clean-living conservatives but they’ve never even been to Northern Ireland let alone registered to vote on May 6.

The Sunday Life yesterday revealed the pair are Kristin Mackenzie and Dan Whitmore who had never even heard of the DUP until last week when they were splashed across election posters proclaiming they were going to vote for the party.

The newspaper tracked down both part-time models to the United States and found they were unhappy that their faces had been used in the election campaign.

Kristin (27) said: “I’m not comfortable at all having my image used in association with any political organisation or belief, especially one I know nothing about.”

Dan (28) said he was angry at his face being used: “I’ve looked the DUP up on the internet since I heard about this, and even though I’d consider myself conservative and a practising Mormon, I’m not comfortable being associated with their policies.”

Hey, any party putting Krisitn MacKenzie up on the ticket - I would vote for her. But who are those two guys Peter Whitmore and Dan Robinson.

Are the people that stupid that they buy into this

I sound mad Nige? Let me tell you something.

You're born alone and you die alone and this world just drops a bunch of rules on top of you to make you forget those facts. But I never forget. I'm living like there's no tomorrow, because there isn't one.

David

Are you implying a parallel between Daniel the Old Testament prophet and Rev Ian Paisley?

Should this be the case then produce your evidence!

By the way you did not address the question concerning the Free Presbyterian church's support for the DUP at present.

I'm from an advertising background and I can tell you that the DUP know advertising is based on one thing: happiness. And do you know what happiness is? Happiness is the smell of a new car. It's freedom from fear. It's a billboard on the side of a road that screams with reassurance that whatever you're doing is OK. You are OK.

The DUP are trying to turn this election into a beauty contest and accordingly I am now going to vote according to the attractiveness of each party leader.

Looks like I'll be spoiling my ballot then.

Why did the DUP feel they had to resort to importing good-looking people from America. Wasn't their own Jeffrey Donaldson free for a photo that day?

The DUP should stick to using their own party members in their billboards. For the next one, they should have Peter Robinson in a James Bond tuxedo grasping a Walther PPK, standing back-to-back with Arlene Foster. She could be holding a dry martini and staring playfully into the camera. The slogan for this billboard would be 'The DUP; we've made a few...changes.'

What is the Belfast Telegraph implying here? That attractive people wouldn't be caught dead voting for the DUP?

So what?

The DUP using models in their billboards is no different than Kelloggs using Coco Monkey to sell breakfast cereal. We as consumers are being conditioned to buy advertisers' products 24/7. Why should the election be any different?

The DUP is not a religous organisation. The Free Church in NI has around 8000 members. Paisley got 230,000 votes in the 1984 euro election. Does anyone think they were all free presbyterians?
No. Get over yourself Cotton.

Did Daniel sin, in taking the position offered to him by Nebuchannezzar? He was a govenor of a province. He took political office offered to him by an evil king. He wasn't there by right.

Will you denounce Daniel?

So the DUP have sacked the Free Presbyterians and have enlisted the Mormons to support their campaign trail, whatever next?.

Paisleyism must at long last answer the obvious question; does the Free Presbyterian church support the DUP in government with Sinn Fein?
