Tiger Woods jibe during spat at Stormont
Thursday, 2 September 2010
THE name of shamed golfing superstar Tiger Woods has been dragged into a Stormont spat between the DUP and Sinn Fein.
Sinn Fein minister Michelle Gildernew yesterday attacked the DUP's record on cutting costs in Government.
The DUP's Simon Hamilton said “accusations about credibility on this issue from Sinn Fein are like taking lectures on marital fidelity from Tiger Woods”.
Mr Hamilton added: “Sinn Fein's track-record on finance can be seen from how their ministers have handled their own budgets. Only last week the Audit Office report highlighted the massive amounts of money allocated for capital projects which was handed back unspent from the Department of Education.
"When all else fails, Sinn Fein can always be relied upon to throw out wild claims that all the world's problems could be solved if only new all-Ireland structures were created.”
