Former DUP leader Ian Paisley has argued that the expenses controversies were to blame for MPs losing their seats in the election.
The ex-First Minister did not name names in his weekly column for the News Letter. He usually avoids public comment on local politics, but the column is examined by commentators for clues on his opinions.
In February, it delivered an apparent rebuke to Peter Robinson over his talk of having a “clever device” to hold Sinn Fein to the deal on devolving policing powers.
