Gardai are appealing for witnesses

A man in his late 50s has died after being assaulted in Dublin.

The victim was injured in an incident in Harold's Cross Road at around 4am on Saturday morning.

He was taken to hospital but died on Sunday morning.

A man in his early 40s was arrested on Sunday in relation to the fatal assault.

He has been detained at Terenure Garda Station.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
