Boy dies in tractor accident

Gardai have launched a probe into the death of a 14-year-old boy who fell from a tractor.

The boy was a passenger on the vehicle when it crashed and he fell, sustaining serious head injuries, at Knocknacullata, Killavullen in Mallow Co Cork at 5.45pm on Friday.

He was airlifted to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Gardai closed the road at the scene and are to carry out a forensic collision examination.
