Four hundred cannabis plants have been discovered in a housing development in Co Tipperary.

The find, believed to have a street value of around 320,000 euro, was made at a house in Tullaskeagh Drive in Roscrea.

A man was arrested and is being held at Nenagh Garda station under section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

A Garda spokesman said the discovery was made using advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.

"Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities," he added.
