Cash appeal for Irishman shot in Honduras
An Irishman who was shot in Honduras following an argument with a woman over where he parked his bicycle is appealing for support to pay medical bills that could reach £45,000.
Joe O'Donnell, whose family emigrated from Tralee, Co Kerry, was shot in the spine last month.
The 41-year-old planned to open his own diving shop in the central American republic. The altercation occurred when he was out buying equipment and parked his bicycle in some bushes.
A man has surrendered himself to police in Honduras and will appear in court on September 14.
Mr O'Donnell is still in a serious condition.
He fears he will never walk again.
