City takes centre stage on TV show
Images of Dublin will be beamed across Britain on Tuesday when the Irish capital is featured on ITV's Daybreak programme.
Presenter Dan Lobb visited some of the city's most popular tourist attractions for a piece on days out and weekend breaks for families during the holidays.
During his trip Mr Lobb went to Croke Park - where he got a few hurling tips from some young GAA fans - the National Leprechaun Museum on Jervis Street and took a trip on the Dart to Sandycove.
The "Daybreaks" feature will be beamed into the homes of about 700,000 television viewers on Tuesday morning.
Vanessa Markey, of Tourism Ireland, said Britain is the largest and most important tourism market for Ireland.
Approximately 6.7 million overseas visitors came to the island of Ireland in 2010, with almost half coming from the UK.
"With almost 700,000 viewers each day, this feature on Daybreak is a great way to reach a wide audience of potential holidaymakers all round Britain, reminding them about the great things to see and do on a short break to Dublin," she said.
"Tourism Ireland has an extensive promotional programme under way in Great Britain this year, promoting short breaks and longer-stay holidays throughout the island of Ireland."
