Dissident republican gang 'enforcer' shot in leg
A man regarded by police in the Republic as an enforcer for a dissident republican gang has been shot in the leg. The victim was hit while sitting in a car, in Tallaght, south Dublin.
The man, who is in his early 30s, was then dumped out of the car, which sped off.
Officers believe the man, who was treated in hospital, had been threatened previously by a gang from Dundalk, over claims he had failed to hand over money they alleged he had been collecting as part of an extortion racket.
