Dublin’s airport security has been exposed for letting through real guns and bombs, according to reports.
The international airport - and the largest in Ireland - was revealed as letting some 45% of test weapons and explosives through X-ray machines.
The revelations have prompted an urgent review of the airport’s anti-terror procedure, with Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary slamming the breaches as an “international embarrassment” on a par with “Somalia or Afghanistan”.
The real weapons and explosives were repeatedly sent in through the airport to test security but almost half of them got through the net, sources said.
