The flight of a bumblebee forced a plane bound for Dublin to turn back.

Passengers on the flight from Southampton couldn't bee-lieve it when they discovered why their plane had been forced to make an unscheduled landing.

The tiny insect had somehow become trapped in one of the plane's outside instruments, causing problems for the pilots.

Passenger Noel Rooney told the Daily Echo newspaper: "A bumblebee got stuck in the wind instrument thingie on Flybe flight BE384. Yep, that FlyBEE."

Flybe said: "The aircraft landed without incident and all passengers disembarked as normal."
