Dublin man in hospital after gang shooting
A Dublin man was taken to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds last night after the capital's latest suspected gangland attack.
The man, who is in his 30s, was shot at a well-known west Dublin pub shortly after 8.30pm.
At least one masked gunman opened fire on the man at the Cappagh House pub in Finglas. He was hit at least three times in the upper body by a man believed to have used a semi-automatic pistol.
The injured man was conscious when he was taken from the scene by ambulance to James Connolly Memorial hospital. His condition was described late last night as critical but stable.
Initial reports said the man may have been wearing a bullet-proof vest to protect him from low-velocity bullets. His attackers fled the scene by car.
Gardai immediately cordoned off the area. It has been the scene of a number of attacks in recent years.
Detectives will today examine CCTV footage from security cameras in the area and begin house-to-house inquiries.
