'Even ISIS would not have done this': Kerryman front page goes viral
The Kerryman newspaper's front page has caused something of an online stir over its coverage of condemnation of the local council, which was described as worse than ISIS.
The Tralee edition of the paper reports on Wednesday on the fury over Kerry County Council's admission that it did not have necessary approval from the Republic's National Monuments Service for the partial demolition of the ancient Sunday's Well holy well.
Sinn Fein councillor Pa Daly is quoted: "Who the hell authorised the work?
"Even ISIS wouldn't have done this."
The council said the work was necessary for health and safety reasons.
The so-called Islamic State - or ISIS - has been renowned for its desecration of cultural and religious monuments across the Middle East.
