Flight chaos after blaze
Four passenger aircraft were forced to divert to Belfast as a major fire broke out at Dublin Airport yesterday.
Thousands of travellers were affected when flights were suspended for 90 minutes as firefighters dealt with the blaze on the roof of a hangar. Seven fire appliances attended the scene - four from Dublin Fire Brigade and three from the airport - after the alarm was raised shortly after 7am. Around 60 flights were impacted by the disruption and there were three cancellations, as well as 10 diversions.
