Gardai find dead woman in house

A woman has been found dead in a house, gardai said.

The woman, aged 35, was pronounced dead at the home on Edgeworth Court in Longwood, Co Meath after gardai arrived at the estate.

The discovery was shortly before 5pm this evening.

A 30-year-old man who was in the house at the time was taken from the scene to Mullingar hospital but his condition is believed to be non-life threatening.

The State Pathologist's office has been notified and garda forensic officers are to carry out a technical examination of the house tomorrow morning.

Gardai said there was no sign of a forced entry to the property and no-one else was at the house.
