Gardai investigating after man's body found in Sligo apartment

An investigation has been launched after the discovery of a man's body in an apartment, gardai said.

The remains were found at the flat on Holborn Street in Sligo shortly after 1pm.

The dead man was aged in his late 50s.

Investigating gardai said they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical and forensic examination.

"The Office of the State Pathologist and the local coroner have been notified," a Garda spokesman said.
