Two men were injured in an explosion in the garden of a house

Gardai in Dublin are working to establish the cause of an explosion that injured two men in the back garden of a house.

It is understood a pipe bomb type device detonated at the rear of the property on Moateview Avenue in Coolock.

The men, both aged in their 20s, sustained injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

They were taken to Beaumont Hospital.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination.
