Lottery jackpot? I'll pay my bills

Ireland's newest lottery millionaire who scooped a EuroMillions jackpot of 12.8 million euro bought the winning ticket in Munster, it has emerged.

The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous after Friday's draw, will be able to collect the cheque from Wednesday.

The winner will split the jackpot of 25.6 million euro with a player in Spain.

This is the fifth EuroMillions jackpot win in Ireland since the game was launched in 2004.

So far, over 265 million euro has been paid out to jackpot winners across the country.

Elsewhere, a man from Co Kerry scooped 500,000 euro in Friday's EuroMillions Plus draw.

The man, who also wished to remain anonymous, bought his ticket in Killarney and plans to use some of his winnings to pay off his bills.

"I called my family straight away to let them know the exciting news," he said.

"I am just so shocked, elated and I still can't believe it."

He said he is still undecided about how to splash the cash.

"I am not really sure yet, it's all very surreal but I would like to pay a few bills and possibly buy a car at some stage," he said.
