Man dies after being hit by car in Co Donegal

A man in his late sixties has died after being struck by a car in Co Donegal.

The pedestrian was walking at McClays corner on the Letterkenny side of Stranolar at the time of the collision.

Investigating gardai said the incident occurred around 2:50am today.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road has been closed to allow for a forensic examination and diversions have been put in place.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses.

They have also advised motorists of delays in and around Ballybofey or Stranolar.
