A man is in garda custody after cannabis plants with an estimated street value of 160,000 euro were seized.

Officers raided a house in Twickenham Estate, in Ballycumber, Co Offaly, and discovered 400 plants being cultivated at the property.

They arrested a man in his 20s.

He is being held under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act and can be detained for up to 24 hours.
