Man held after guns are seized

A man has been arrested on suspicion of dissident republican activity after guns and ammunition were seized by gardai.

Three pistols and an assortment of bullets were recovered during searches at a business premises in the Navan area of Co Meath on Sunday evening.

Gardai from the special detective unit carried out the operation.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and detained at Kells Garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
