Man quizzed over death is released

A man arrested over a suspicious death on Christmas Eve has been released without charge.

Gardai said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the man, aged in his 40s, in Courtown Harbour in Co Wexford.

He was found with a fatal stab wound at a house at Ballinatray Lower in the town shortly before midnight.

An injured man at the scene, who was taken to hospital for treatment, was arrested after being released from Wexford General Hospital yesterday.

Investigating gardai said the man, also aged in his 40s, was released from Enniscorthy Garda station late last night.

"The investigation is ongoing and a post-mortem is scheduled at Waterford Regional Hospital this morning," a Garda spokesman added.
