Man's arm hacked during attack

A man's arm was hacked during a late-night attack involving two other men.

The incident happened just before 1.30am on Friday at the junction of Goldsmith Street and the North Circular Road in north Dublin after a row broke out outside a Spar shop.

The 35-year-old suffered serious cuts and was taken to the Mater Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Two men - aged 27 and 30 - were later arrested in a flat on North Circular Road.

They are being held at Store Street garda station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.

Witnesses, or anyone who was in the area, are being asked to contact gardai.
