McAteer's bank earnings outlined

Former group finance director and chief risk officer Willie McAteer resigned from the board of executive directors in January 2009 when Anglo Irish Bank was bailed out.

It is understood the 61-year-old, from Auburn Villas in the leafy south Dublin suburb of Rathgar, did not take up another job after leaving the rogue lender.

He earned a total 2.19 million euro in his last three years with the bank - including benefits, pension and performance bonus.

In 2007 alone, he took home 1.43 million euro, which including an 800,000 euro bonus.

He also held an extensive portfolio of shares, both ordinary and performance shares.

In 2008, he held 80,043 at 9.37 euro per share.
