Memorial commemorating fallen in Easter Rising vandalised
A memorial listing the names of those who died during the Easter Rising has been vandalised.
Paint was thrown at the Necrology Wall at Dublin's Glasnevin Cemetery, which was unveiled as part of the 1916 centenary commemoration.
The Glasnevin Trust said: "This was an act of callous vandalism."
The attack happened overnight on Saturday or into Sunday morning.
The organisation said it was working with gardai.
The names of the 488 people, including rebels and civilians, alongside members of the British Army, Dublin Metropolitan Police and Royal Irish Constabulary are engraved on the wall.
It was opened a year ago as an act of remembrance.
